Outdoor Kitchens

The Perfect Design

Outdoor kitchens are one of the most popular trends in modern landscape design – and with good reason. From simple cooking stations near the patio to complete entertainment areas, outdoor kitchen and dining areas are the heart of a household.

Here at ALD, we believe in customizing outdoor areas to match your home. We consider things like the design of your landscaping, what structures are in the area, how much lighting you have, and even the colors of trees in the area.

The following are some of the most popular designs that people ask for:

Sweet And Simple

This layout is most popular for homes that have limited space to install an outdoor kitchen. Common elements include a food preparation area (like a fire pit or grill), a large patio, and a table with solid seating.

Most of the time, we install a brand-new area for homeowners, but our team can also work with an existing patio to build it out and create a zone for cooking and entertaining.

The Outdoor Kitchen

This layout focuses on creating a full outdoor kitchen, complete with generous amounts of counter space and connections (electricity, gas, etc.) appropriate for the equipment being used. Refrigerators are optional, but when they’re installed, we like to hide them behind some decorations that both help insulate them and protect them from the elements.

Outdoor kitchens also tend to have open patio space for setting up temporary tables and entertaining as many guests as possible.

The Complete Entertainment Area

Finally, some customers want us to go all the way – and that’s exactly what we do. This layout has everything from the Outdoor Kitchen, plus permanent tables, more equipment, and several areas to sit down and relax.

Optional elements – available, but not appropriate for every location – include:

Special equipment like Pizza Ovens

Fountains

Sheltered areas for televisions, speakers, and other electronic devices

Paths to (or around) gardens

Weather-resistant art and decor

Special access (for wheelchairs or people who have otherwise restricted movement)

Custom-built walls or fencing

Camouflaged sheds, pantries, or other storage areas

Solar panels, generators, and other external power supplies

A Comfortable Price

Our team can work with any budget to create a custom outdoor kitchen and dining area. Whether you’re looking for something as simple as a stone enclosure and a little shade or as complex as a full exterior renovation, we get things done on-time, on-budget, and with the professional expertise you expect.

How It Works

When we first arrive at your house, we’ll take a look around and see how we can create the perfect outdoor areas. Some homes are ready for us to begin, while other locations may need landscaping before a proper outdoor kitchen can be put in. Every house is different, so we won’t make any assumptions about your project until we see what we’ll be working with.

From there, we’ll talk about different designs to help you get a better sense of what the final result would look like. Some people already have a design in mind, and when that happens, our team loves working to bring it to life. Other people want an expert’s recommendations – and we can provide that, too.

One of the most common requests is for our team to build off of an existing fixture. This could be a fountain, a garden, a patio, or anything else placed on the outside of the house. Outdoor kitchens are usually placed just outside a door, but that’s certainly not the only way to do things, and some families enjoy being able to walk down some steps to reach a kitchen.

If you’re working with a limited budget, be sure to provide it at this stage – our team has a good sense for what things cost, and they’ll be careful to stick to ideas that match your financial needs.

Finalizing The Design

Once we know exactly what you want, our team will calculate the time, labor, and supplies necessary to bring your project to life. Most of the things we’ll need are easy to acquire, but any rare or unusual items – certain types of art and decor, out-of-stock cooking equipment, and so on – may delay the project until we can get them.

Similarly, we’ll also let you know how long it will take to prep the area. Extending a patio or laying down stones is easy, but adding gas, electricity, or water takes more time… especially since we want your garden to look good afterward!

Items like these are hard to replace once they’re in, so our installers will be thorough about making sure they’re installed correctly and meet or exceed all coding requirements.

Getting It Done

Once the groundwork is done, we’ll start putting your new outdoor kitchen and dining area into place. Small projects may be done in as few as one or two days, while larger projects could take a week or more. This isn’t just because of the number of heavy rocks we need to move – sometimes, we need to wait for components of the kitchen to settle a bit before we proceed.

The Personal Touch Makes All The Difference

Here at ALD, we know that a project isn’t just a project – it’s a part of your home, and you’ll be living with it for the foreseeable future. This is why we work so hard to ensure that each outdoor kitchen we install is unique, appropriate, and a good long-term investment.

We also love incorporating your ideas and preferences into our final design. Whether you want something to match certain flowers, show off a unique design, or blend in with nature, we believe in finding ways to make any idea work.

Don’t let your dream remain a dream forever – contact ALD today, and we’ll work with you to create a design, budget, and timetable you can say ‘yes’ to.
